Fake acts

Lilith was bewildered as she was told that only her sister have had dinner. Her guardians waited for her? Well now THAT is new until when the lady guardian dump food in the plate for Lilith.

VERY nice. She wouldn’t have done that to her beloved partner. Food must be set nicely in the plate. THAT is her definition of perfection.

But who cares about Lilith. She does not need that pretty presentation of food because she is no one. Anger licked up Lilith’s heart faster than her low blood pressured pulse.

Dinner of fish and leaves was superb for Lilith’s growling stomach. She cleaned her plate after ten minutes, all matters forgotten.

Wait a minute. Not totally forgotten. Her sister reminded her anger by throwing unnecessary counter-remark. Lilith said “The icebox makes peculiar sounds. How irritating,” Her sister, Beatrice said “Unlike you are not.”

Look who is talking now.

Destination Destiny Destination Destiny

Waking up smiling, Lilith got herself dressed for the day. She made a mental note to always have that smile no matter how bad the day might go.

Lilith bid her two guardians goodbye and left the cave. Her bag hit her back as she strode to her pals. Usually, Lilith takes her own wagon to the hollow. Not today though. Berry greeted as Lilith got in the wagon belonged to Alvin. Alvin, who was behind the wheel pointed out that the weather should be good for the day and the conversation drifted to subjects that are unfamiliar for Lilith.

Barely listening to the two, Lilith got herself absorbed in her own thoughts. She planned about what she could and would do for the rest of the day and part of the night. She will need to travel far today. So much for some knowledge. Knowledge for her to get license.

Alvin and Berry are classmates. They went off to their class after getting the wagon a good spot.Lilith on the other hand, lingered a little while before entering hers. It was almost full house today. Only a few of her classmates weren’t there. She greeted and asked one of them about the class with Coach Ho later today. After learning that no one was planning to attend today’s class, Lilith sat at her desk in despair. Looks like she is on her own.

The day went by like a blur. It was suddenly already after school. Again, Lilith took long strides as to reach her coach’s place on time. It took her almost an hour to reach. It felt unusually quiet. Not many was there.

It was almost twilight when the class ended. The journey back was very uncomfortable. Folks of all sorts travel home at the same time resulting to suffocation and fiery. Sigh. Lilith got herself squished in between people and the door of the wagon.

Nice. As it was reaching the hollow, the wagon slowed down a notch.

Walking back in the dark was not the best idea. Lilith’s two guardians waited as she got off the wagon.

Sweaty Smile.

As Lilith inhaled the scent of the fresh sunny Sunday morning, she realised that her tickets to flee from the hollow will be valid soon. Very soon.

So she wasted no time at all and just focus on one thing only. She needs to get her license first. To get that, she has to work hard. She has to practice. Flying is easier said than done. Seriously.

She puts away all the things she does not need. Put them to one side of her cave. And then she sorted her thoughts before putting them in a box, safely kept in the cupboard.

Lilith lightens the tensed atmosphere around her by thinking about her plans when she gets to fly. Millions of things she would like to try. To explore on her own without anyone trying to stop her.

Flying free and look back only to check if there’s anything she had forgotten.

The New Chapter

posted 2 years ago

Lilith finds it easy to get along with new people. She doesn’t seem to fit in but she blends in easily. Just like a perfect unintended camouflage. People doesn’t seem to mind her. Or even notice her.

Lilith has paranoia problems.

When she first moved to the hollow, it was all awkward and weird for her. She found herself all alone even when she was in a crowd. Lilith was the only girl that looked out of place. The only blue dot in a sea of whites. The only tinker in a jar full of hammer.

Okay bad comparisons.

Anyway, Lilith found her place in the hollow a year after that. Not too long really. She made friends and most of them sticks. Some, however, were shunned out for the simple reasons of not being nice; meaning that they wore masks and swept their ugly faces under.

It started to get all annoying for Lilith when there’s just one person being a little too friendly.

That was when it all began.

Yarrow was friendly. He went looking for Lilith to ask whether she has some Novel Ideas. She was trying to find someone to pass those down and thus, she gave him.

It doesn’t stop right there. He went on calling, texting and even chatting with Lilith online.

It turned out to be a crush. Yarrow told Lilith after he found out Lilith was having a minor crush on another being who happened to be his bestfriend. Yarrow was crazy mad. He attempted suicide and thanked God for slapping some sense into him at last minute.

When he told Lilith how he felt, he shed tears. Lilith just managed to tell him that she can only see him as her brother. Not more than that.

Lilith wishes to just disappear. Fly to another cave. But she can’t because she has to finish what she started.
